Congratulations to the nine winners who were selected from the 79 entries! Two of the nine winning entries represent the A.W. Hastings territory of New England and Eastern, NY:
Giambastiani designed the renovation of this New England farmhouse style family retreat located in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts using natural building materials, such as local fieldstone and cedar shingles, to maintain the rustic character of the home and landscape. Marvin windows offered the style and scale needed to complement the building materials and bring light to the many vaulted interior spaces.
Estes was inspired by the early designs found on Block Island when he designed this light-filled island home. He used the traditional “Block Island Dormer,” where the building facade extends into the roof with a gable, in two separate blocks to create the main living areas and the bedrooms. Marvin windows were chosen for their durability against the rough island climate, while also providing the large glass openings to take advantage of the southerly light and views throughout most of the home.
